XVRO at the mixing console

Sound Engineer Dubai is a vocal-forward mixing and mastering studio for independent pop and urban artists - R&B, Hip-Hop, Afro, and World Music - based in Dubai and working with artists across the GCC and remotely worldwide. The studio has been making chart-ready records here since 2018, led by XVRO, an engineer with more than two decades behind the board. Every record is mixed and mastered to compete on the platforms that matter - and you can hear your own track mixed free before you decide anything.

The move to Dubai was deliberate. This is a region making world-level music, and it deserved world-level engineering on the ground - not a plane ticket away. So the studio set up here to do one thing at the highest standard: make independent records sound like they're already on the playlist.

Console & Summing

The mix sums through a Neve 8816 with SSL Fusion on the stereo bus, so a busy arrangement lands as one weighted, finished whole - not a stack of separate parts.

EQ

Tone is shaped with Manley Massive Passive, Pultec, Maselec and Chandler Curve Bender - broad, musical moves that add weight and air without going brittle.

Compression

Dynamics are handled with Tube-Tech, Shadow Hills, a Distressor pair and API - so the vocal holds forward and the record stays punchy without being crushed flat.

Vocal Chain

Vocals run Neve 1073 preamps into a Tube-Tech CL 1B, so the lead sits forward and stays there - even and present from a whisper to a belt.

Reverb & Space

Space comes from a Bricasti M7 alongside Valhalla, Strymon BigSky and Lexicon - depth you can feel without washing the mix out.

Conversion & Clocking

Antelope and Burl B2 Bomber conversion, master-clocked, so what leaves the room is exactly what was heard in it - clean and tight, no smear.

Monitoring

Every move is cross-checked on ATC, Amphion, NS-10M, Auratone and HD600 - so the record holds up on mains, minis, earbuds and phones alike.

Restoration & Precision

iZotope RX Advanced, Cedar, Weiss, Soothe2 and Gullfoss clean up noise and tame resonance surgically - polished, never processed-sounding.
